Resolution no. 32/2021 of the Senate of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences of 25 June 2021

concerning the conditions, procedure and deadlines for admission of candidates for the first year of full-time joint second-cycle studies in English in the field of food technology with the Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche, Spain, commencing in the 2021/2022 academic year

Pursuant to Art. 28 sec. 1 point 10, Art. 60, sec. 1, Art. 69 sec. 1 point 1 and sec. 3, Art. 70 sec. 1 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Dz. U. /Journal of Laws/ of 2021, item 478 as amended) and Art. 12, sec. 1 point 9, Art. 84 sec. 5 of the Statutes of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences constituting an appendix to Resolution No. 56/2019 of the Senate of the University of Environmental and Life Sciences of 28 June 2019 on the adoption of the Statutes of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, as amended, it is resolved as follows:

Art. 1

The following admission rules are established for the first year of full-time joint second cycle studies of general academic profile conducted in English in the field of food technology with Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (Spain) starting in the 2021/2022 academic year:

1) second-cycle studies in the field of food technology may be entered by persons who have obtained the Master's degree, engineer, Bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree and obtained a diploma of graduation;

2) candidates with a foreign diploma are qualified based on the same rules as persons with diplomas obtained in Poland;

3) second-cycle studies in the field of food technology may be entered by persons who have competences, including in particular knowledge and skills, necessary for education in second-cycle studies in this field:

a) knowledge and skills in the field of the properties and analysis of raw materials and products of plant and animal origin,

b) knowledge and skills in the field of food production, preservation and storage,

c) skills in the interpretation, presentation and documentation of experimental results, and the presentation and documentation of the results of a project task;

4) in addition, candidates whose mother tongue is not English must have a minimum  of B2 level of proficiency in English; proof of English language proficiency can be recognised based on:

a) one of the following certificates confirming English language skills: Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency (formerly FCE, CAE, CPE) TOEFL, IELTS at a level of at least B2,

b) a certificate, diploma or other document confirming the graduation from a secondary or higher school abroad, in which classes were conducted in English,

c) a confirmation of his/her B2 language proficiency level from the university he/she graduated from, obtained in the recruitment process;

5) a candidate who does not fulfil the admission requirements may be admitted to the second-cycle studies if it is possible to make up for the missing learning outcomes through additional subjects, for which the candidate will receive up to 30 ECTS credit points; the list of additional subjects is determined by the vice-dean.

Art. 2

(1) Candidates are required to register in the online recruitment system by the dates specified in the schedule of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. Candidates with Polish citizenship should register at irk.upwr.edu.pl, whereas candidates from abroad can do so at apply.upwr.edu.pl.

2. Candidates must submit the following documents required for the recruitment process in person, by post, courier or through a nominated agent within the time limits specified in the schedule.

The candidate should submit the following set of documents:

1) a signed application form on the established form (a printable template available in the IRK/DreamApply system, after registration and photo approval);

2) a copy of the diploma confirming the completion of first-cycle, second-cycle or a uniform Master's programmes, certified as a true copy by a notary public or an issuing body, or the original document  so that it can be confirmed by the admissions committee as a true copy;

3) a copy of the diploma supplement or an extract from the student's transcript, certified to be a true copy by a notary public or an issuing authority, or their original to be presented to the Recruitment Committee for inspection;

4) a proof of payment of the recruitment fee to the University of Wrocław, Wrocław, indicated in the IRK/DreamApply system;

5) a certificate from a doctor of occupational medicine stating that there are no contraindications to taking up studies in the field of food technology; the candidate will receive a referral for the examination when submitting the documents listed in Art. 2,
and will present it to the Admissions Committee in order to confirm his or her identity original ID card or passport, or a certificate of loss of ID card or damage to ID card, or mObywatel (mCitizen) application (or mTożsamość /mIdentity/ application valid until the end of 2021).

3. A foreign diploma with a supplement must be submitted in English without the need for translation or in the language of issue with a certified translation into Polish.

4. The qualification is based on a ranking list of candidates prepared on the basis of the arithmetic mean of all grades from the undergraduate studies, followed by the final grade from the undergraduate studies and the final grade from the foreign language course.


Art. 3


Winter recruitment for the 2021/2022 academic year is open from 15 September 2021 until 28 February 2022.


Art. 4


The remaining terms and conditions of admission of candidates for the first year of full-time second-cycle studies with a general academic profile in the field of food technology conducted in English are in accordance with the Resolution No. 33/2020 of the Senate of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences of 29 May 2020 on the conditions, procedure and deadlines of the recruitment procedure for candidates for the first year of full-time and part-time studies at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences in the 2021/2022 academic year, as amended

Art. 5

The Resolution shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
