COMPETITION CLOSED

Rector of the University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wrocław

announces an open competition for the PostDoc position:

The PostDoc position will be funded by the Polish National Science Center in the framework of the project “Integrated terrestrial reference frames based on SLR measurements to geodetic, active LEO, and GNSS satellites” (project number: 2019/35/B/ST10/00515).

Main tasks:

  • Time series analysis of global geodetic parameters: Earth rotation parameters, station coordinates, and low-degree gravity field parameters derived from space and satellite geodesy techniques.
  • Analysis of geodetic parameters based on SLR and GNSS data and a comparison with geophysical models with geodynamic interpretations.
  • Publishing scientific papers and presentation of results at scientific conferences.
  • Assist in education of master and D. students.

  • Proficiency in programming (e.g., in C++, Fortran, Python or others) including data visualization.
  • Experience in processing satellite geodetic data and deriving geodetic parameters, e.g., Earth rotation parameters, station coordinates, precise orbits, gravity field parameters based on GNSS/SLR/LLR/VLBI data.
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written).
  • Capability to work independently and timely, enjoying to participate actively in meetings of international teams and to present complex research matter concisely and appealingly (oral and written).
