announces an open competition for the position of an

associate professor in a group of research staff

in the Department of Applied Bioeconomy

 

Description of tasks in the position:

  • tasks indicated in the project from which the post is funded: Synergistic integration of biological and thermochemical methods for the valorization of biowaste into high-quality fuels and biorefinery products;
  • conducting research activities in the field of biotechnological processes, or chemical and microbiological processes, or thermochemical transformation of bio-waste and biomass, issues related to recycling and upcycling of industrial waste and by-products, and issues related to waste processing, including obtaining external funds for the implementation of projects research;
  • dissemination of research results in the form of scientific publications in journals indexed in the SCOPUS or Web of Science databases;
  • participation in scientific conferences/symposiums (domestic and foreign);
  • participation in workshops and trainings improving didactic and research qualifications as well as professional competencies;
  • participation in organizational work for the unit and the university;
  • other tasks assigned by the head of the unit, resulting from the profile and nature of the unit and university.

 

Requirements for the candidate:

  • has at least a Ph.D. degree in the discipline of environmental engineering, chemical engineering, biotechnology or related sciences;
  • after obtaining the doctoral degree, has a significant scientific achievement representing a major contribution to the development of a specific discipline;
  • demonstrates significant scientific activity carried out in collaboration with more than one university or scientific institution, in particular abroad,
  • has completed at least a 6-month research internship in a foreign university or scientific institution or at least a 9-month post-doc in an externally funded research project;
  • currently acts as a coordinator on the part of the university or directs a research project funded by a national or foreign research funding institution;
  • has research experience in the field of biotechnological processes or thermochemical transformations of bio-waste;
  • has the ability to work in a laboratory;
  • has knowledge of statistical data analysis and mathematical modeling of processes;
  • knows English at the level of min. B2;
  • meets the criteria indicated in Art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science:
  • enjoys full public rights;
  • has full legal capacity;
  • has not been convicted by a final judgment for an intentional crime or an intentional fiscal crime;
  • has not been punished with the disciplinary penalty of expulsion from work from the university with a ban on working at universities for a period of 6 months to 5 years or deprivation of the right to practice as an academic teacher for a period of 10 years.

  • results achieved in the career so far: candidate's mobility, obtained grants, conducted research, innovative activities, openness to entrepreneurship and practical aspect of scientific research;
  • scans of diplomas confirming education.
  • documents certifying at least a 6-month research internship in a foreign university or scientific institution or at least a 9-month internship of the type
    post-doc in an externally funded research project;
  • certification in the form of a decision on the award and/or settlement of the research project.
