announces an open competition for the position of an assistant professor

in a group of research and teaching staff at the Department of Applied Bioeconomy


Description of tasks in the position:

  • conducting research activities in the field of biotechnological processes or chemical and microbiological processes, or thermochemical transformation of bio-waste and biomass, issues related to recycling and upcycling of industrial waste and by-products, and issues related to waste processing, including obtaining external funds for the implementation of projects research;
  • preparing and conducting didactic classes mainly in the field of bioeconomy or additionally in the field of waste management in English or Polish;
  • dissemination of research results in the form of scientific publications in journals indexed in the SCOPUS or Web of Science databases;
  • participation in scientific conferences/symposiums (domestic and foreign);
  • participation in workshops and trainings improving didactic and research qualifications as well as professional competencies;
  • participation in organizational work for the unit and the university;
  • other tasks assigned by the head of the unit, resulting from the profile and nature of the unit and university.

Requirements for the candidate:

  • has at least a Ph.D. degree in the discipline of environmental engineering, mining, and energy, or chemical engineering, or biotechnology, or materials engineering, or in related sciences;
  • has teaching experience at the academic level in the field of bioeconomy or waste management;
  • has research experience in the field of biotechnological processes or thermochemical transformations of bio-waste;
  • has the ability to work in a laboratory;
  • has knowledge of statistical data analysis, mathematical modeling of processes;
  • has scientific achievements published in scientific journals indexed in the Scopus and/or Web of Science databases;
  • has scientific achievements in the form of speeches at scientific conferences and seminars;
  • has experience in executing and/or managing research projects financed from external sources, including ERC, NCN, NCBR, MEiN, and MRiRW;
  • knows English at the level of min. B2;
  • meets the criteria indicated in Art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science:
  • enjoys full public rights;
  • has full legal capacity;
  • has not been convicted by a final judgment for an intentional crime or an intentional fiscal crime;
  • has not been punished with the disciplinary penalty of expulsion from work from the university with a ban on working at universities for a period of 6 months to 5 years or deprivation of the right to practice as an academic teacher for a period of 10 years.

Optional requirements:

  • having a certificate in the form of a decision on the award and/or settlement of a research project - in the case of experience in project management.
